We realize that there are a million things to take care of with your celebration, especially weddings.
Here are a few questions that come up - especially after the party is over.
If you don't find your answer here, just give us a call. We will be more than happy to help you out!

Do we deliver? Yes, and to just about anywhere in the State. Delivery fees are based on the difficulty of set-up and how far we have to travel. We charge a rate of $1 per mile round trip plus $20 per hour for set-up with a minimum 1 hour for most orders.

Can I pick up my cake?  For small cakes, yes. In fact we encourage pick-up for single tier cakes. Anything bigger than that, please let us handle it. If you choose to pick up your order we ask that you place the cake on the floor of your car in the flattest spot possible. Be sure that the area around the cake is free from anything that could slide around and hit the box. Never put the cake on the seat, in the trunk, truck bed or in your lap. Most boxes are not meant to be stacked on top of each other. So if you have a big order, bring a big car or SUV.  Non-slip mats are helpful to keep the cake from sliding around the floor. (We use shelf liner from the hardware store) Once the cake leaves the kitchen we are no longer responsible for what happens to it.  If the cake gets damaged after you pick it up we may be able to come fix it granted we are not working with another client. If we are able to come out,  all delivery fees will apply and will be due before we leave.  So in short, please ask for delivery. We are pretty good at what we do and can fix anything that may happen in transit. That's why we are the pros!

It is extremely important that you are on-time when picking up your order. And equally important that a responsible adult is at your venue when we deliver. There are many days when we have multiple appointments and may not be able to wait if you are late. We respect your time and put a lot of work into your cake. Each order has a 15 minute window in which we will wait for you, after that time your order will be taken back to the kitchen and set aside. You will need to make another appointment to pick-up your cake, hopefully we are available.

Does my cake need to be refrigerated? It depends on how long you would like to keep it. Most cakes can stay out of the refrigerator for a couple days post party.  If you have leftovers place the cake in an air tight container in the fridge and it will last for about 2 weeks. Obviously, if there is any type of fruit in the cake then the life of the cake is shortened to about 3 days and must be refrigerated. Never stick fondant or gumpaste in the fridge - it will be very sad and melt.

How do I freeze my cake? To freeze your cake, there are just a few steps that will make sure it will last until your anniversary.
1. Disassemble all tiers and remove all dowels and fresh flowers.
2. Place the neked cake tiers in the freezer for 1-2 hours to help the cake firm up before wrapping.
3. Remove the cake from the freezer and wrap tightly with plastic wrap (We love press and seal for this). Wrap the cake 3 times to ensure that it is air tight and well protected.
4. Wrap with 1 layer of aluminum foil.
5. Place the cake back in the freezer and keep it there for as long as you would like. We recommend no longer than 1 year as it starts to lose its best qualities soon after freezing.

How do I thaw my cake?  Remove the cake from the freezer, all the plastic wrap and place it on a plate in the refrigerator. Thawing could take just a few hours or a few days depending on how big the cake is. A typical 6" wedding cake will take 36 hours to thaw in the fridge so plan ahead. Once the cake is thawed, place it in a air tight container for up to 1 week.

Help! I forgot to take my cake out of the freezer and my anniversary is tonight!  No worries! unwrap your cake and place it on the counter for a quick thaw that will only take about 2 hours for a 6" cake.
